Cincinnati Tennis Open Campus Transformation

The Cincinnati Open has long been one of the premier events in professional tennis, and its $260 million Campus Transformation represents the largest investment in the tournament’s history. Designed to enhance the experience for athletes, fans, and event operations alike, the expansion nearly doubled the size of the Lindner Family Tennis Center while positioning the tournament for continued growth on the global stage.

Motz Engineering served as the Lead Commissioning Authority (CxA) for the campus-wide transformation, providing commissioning services to help ensure that new and renovated building systems performed as intended. The project included a new 56,000-square-foot, two-story clubhouse, expanded player amenities, wellness and recovery spaces, upgraded locker rooms, an enhanced fitness facility, and a new 2,000-seat Champions Court, along with 10 additional tennis courts, bringing the campus to 31 total courts.

Beyond the new facilities, the project introduced major fan-focused improvements, including a permanent shaded pavilion with a large video board and enhanced gathering spaces that improve comfort and the overall tournament experience. Through comprehensive commissioning, Motz Engineering helped verify that the building systems supporting these highly visible spaces were ready to perform reliably for players, spectators, and event staff.
